Destin E. Hill, MD

Dr. Destin Hill

Dr. Destin Hill is a sports medicine physician who specializes in caring for athletes of all ages. He enjoys providing care to athletes of any type—and their families—with a primary goal to get each patient “back in the game” as quickly and safely as possible. His focus is in non-surgical care, and his areas of expertise include fracture care, throwing athletes, overuse injuries, concussions, ultrasound-guided injections, cortisone injections, and platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections.

Dr. Hill graduated from the University of Georgia Honors Program in 2003 with a degree in exercise and sport science. While at the University of Georgia, he played a year of football for the Bulldogs. Dr. Hill completed his medical training in 2007 at the Medical College of Georgia, and played Arena League Football for the Augusta Spartans during his third year of medical school. He went on to complete his family medicine residency at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale, where he served as chief resident his final year.

In 2011, Dr. Hill concluded his sports medicine fellowship in Birmingham, Alabama, at Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center. He spent his fellowship year under the guidance of Drs. Tracy Ray, James Andrews, E. Lyle Cain, Jeffrey Dugas, and Jose Ortega.

Sports and Community Involvement

During his fellowship in Birmingham, Dr. Hill served as team physician for Samford University and a local high school. He also helped with coverage of the Washington Redskins, the Birmingham Barons, Auburn University, the University of Alabama, the Mercedes Marathon, the Alabama Ballet, and the Regions Tradition Senior PGA golf tournament.

Since joining ASMC, Dr. Hill has assisted with the Arizona Cardinals, Arizona Coyotes, San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs, Oakland A’s, Colorado Rockies, and Pittsburgh Pirates. He’s also aided with the Phoenix Marathon and the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl. Plus, he is the team physician for Arcadia High School and Coronado High School.
